Reckless Masterpiece is pleased to announce behind the scenes viewing at the artists studios of abstract painter Stella Michaels & pop artist Zane Fix. Guests will have access to an array of canvases, as the artists weave combinations of ambient treatments, bold graphics, executed with an exceptional use of colors & textures located in Soho, New York.
Stella Michaels is a contemporary painter born & raised in New York. She has been described as a channel of the past traveling on a highway to the future; a medium between people & paintings. She acquired her BFA from New York University, where she focused on both the visual & performing arts. Michaels amplified her visual expression, utilizing her proficiency in sound & vision to execute her operatic paintings.

Working from various studios in New York Michaels began to display her work in a mobile pop-up shop, showcasing & selling on Madison Avenue at the Mark & Carlyle hotels, to the Meatpacking district at the Standard hotel. Michaels found great success with collectors worldwide. Best known for her blend of abstract, pop-edge sensibility; coupled with a signature rock 'n roll swagger, she traces the boundaries of spontaneity & precision in equal measure. The paintings embody and meld sound & vision; spontaneous cliff notes to choreographed dances that give life to raw canvas', found objects etc... Michaels is able to achieve exceptional results through mediums that include enamels, metals, acrylic, & paper appliqués, creating a symphony of visual rhythms & sounds that resonate from ambiance to power pop. World-renowned guru of Zane Fix, is an American artist, born in Brooklyn, New York.
The art of Zane Fix blends both the intensity and simplicity of Japanese woodblock prints with the pop sensibility of early and Mid 20th century western pop and commercial art.
Fix began honing his skills of draftsmanship as a child by interpreting the works of Hokusai, Sharaku, and Utamaro. He attended Cooper Union School of Architecture. in 1997, he travelled to Kyoto, Japan, and began on the path that led him to his current incarnation as the guru of Japanese style fused with Pop Art.
Original pieces are labor and time intensive; utilizing techniques he learned as an architectural draftsman and apprentice sumi-e painter, and woodblock cutter. Fix uses brush, pen, ink and wax pencils on various handmade rice papers. in his own words “It’s all done by hand, no computer magic, baby!”
